From 2009 to 2017, he was the co-founder and managing partner of Tyrian Investments LP, a short-biased equity fund seeded by Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management with peak AUM of $1.1 billion.
Prior to founding Tyrian, Orlando was a partner and director of research at Gracie Capital LP, an event driven/multi-strategy fund, from 2002 to 2008.
From 1994 to 2002, Orlando worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (currently a subsidiary of Blackrock) where he was an analyst and later portfolio manager for various investment vehicles focused on investing in Latin America.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, he worked as an analyst at KPMG Consulting.
Orlando earned a B.A. with a concentration in History and Economics from The University of Vermont in 1990. He earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Columbia Business School in 1994.
He serves on the board of directors of Glasswing International and Grupo de Sola.
